My hometown is hangzhou, a beautiful city in zhejiang Province. hangzhou played a very important role in chinese history. so it has a profound cultural background and many great heritagesites have been well reverved.
In Hangzhou ,there are too many things to introduce. So I choose the most famous and beautiful one for you.
There are great scenes here, The qiantang River, Xixi wetland, West lake, qiandao lake and so on.
Lying on the west edge of Hangzhou city, West Lake is the symbol of Hangzhou as well as one of the most beautiful sights in China. West Lake has all along been praised as a sparkling pearl.
Even on the Back of One Yuan Bill of RMB,we can see the scenery of West lake.Since ancient times, West Lake was associated with a large number of romantic poets, profound philosophers, national heroes and heroines.
Once a local told me if you want to enjoy the whole west lake,there are three kinds of sight you need to see. The sunny one, the rainy one and the night view of it. There is a saying that the sunny West lake is not equal to the rainy West lake,and the rainy West lake is not equal to the West lake at night.
At last there is a love tale happened at West lake.It was said that there was a white snake,which was called Bai Suzhen. She was willing to repay Xu Xian for saving her life 500 years ago. Then she descended to the world and married him,living together happily.But the Monk Fa Hai,who was from the temple Jin Shan,kept making Bai Suzhen die. What he did made them part .Bai Suzhen was held in the Leifeng tower and the couple had no chance to meet again.
Hangzhou once was applauded as "the most splendid and luxurious city in the world" by Marco Polo.It means just as there is paradise in heaven, there are Suzhou and Hangzhou on earth.
It is the center of politics, economy and culture. Many celebrities were born here, for instance, Su shi ，Yue fei，HeZhiZhang and so on .Each year, many people come here for tour and investment. So I believe that, with the joint efforts of every person, a better future of hangzhou is coming. i like my hometown very much
